From New Zealand to Hagenberg
New scientific director for the SCCH.
Since the 1st of February Dr. Klaus-Dieter Schewe (51) is the new scientific director of the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH). Before changing to the competence center in Hagenberg, he has been working for 10 years in New Zealand. At the Massey University he was professor for information systems and additionally held the position of the director of the Information Research Center.
Klaus-Dieter Schewe promoted to professor in mathematics and informatics and focuses on the research topics formal specification and semantic, software development, databases and representation of knowledge, mathematical-logical fundamentals, web-based information systems and service-oriented software.
At the SCCH he will be responsible for the coordination and strategic planning in the field of research.
“I’m looking for that new challenge. My aim is that the SCCH will receive attention in the scientific surroundings and will be noticed as professional partner for applied research”, mentions Schewe.
In his free time he’s fond of cooking and listening to classical music. He likes watching ballet and figure skating and does a lot of hiking, called “tramping” in New Zealand.
