Current and Planned EU-level Involvements
SCCH is involved in the following research and research coordination actions funded by the European Commission within the Future Emergent Technology (FET) Initiative of the Information Society Technologies priority in the 6th Framework Program:
- Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH) participates on a subcontractor basis in the FACETS (Fast Analog Computing with Emergent Transient States) Integrated Project. The goal of this strategic research project is to create a theoretical and experimental foundation for the realization of novel computing paradigms that exploit the concepts experimentally observed in biological nervous systems.
- SCCH is a member of the Coordination Action KDubiq (Knowledge Discovery in Ubiquitous Environments). KDubiq aims to support research and networking activities in the emerging area of intelligent ubiquitous knowledge discovery.
SCCH aims to participate in challenging research activities within the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) theme in the 7th Framework Program (FP7) of the European Commission.
Past EU-level Involvements
- In 2001, SCCH initiated Austria’s participation in COST Action 274 (Theory and Applications of Relational Structures as Knowledge Instruments)
- In 2003, SCCH served as the driving force behind Austria’s participation in COST Action 276 (Information and Knowledge Management for Integrated Media Communication)
- SCCH also benefited from the CEEPUS Network SK-42 (Fuzzy Control) and Project 41p19 (Advanced Fuzzy Modeling) within the framework of “Aktion Österreich – Tschechische Republik” (“Action Austria/Czech Republic”) via its scientific partner FLLL
- SCCH was a partner of the EU 5th Framework Thematic Networks KDNet (Knowledge Discovery Network of Excellence) and MKMNet (Mathematical Knowledge Management Network)
