Job Profile

We are looking for a (Junior) Research Engineer (f/m) to join our computer vision team at Software Competence Center Hagenberg with expertise in software development, machine (and deep) learning as well as in mathematical modelling or embedded vision.

We offer you to become a member of an international research team with focus on robust surface inspection, early error detection, object recognition and tracking (e.g., in the area of sport or security), as well as biomedical computer vision on the nano, micro and macro scale.


You should have the following skills and attributes:

  • a Bachelor/Master degree in mathematics, computer science, mechatronics or related field of study
  • experience in the field of computer vision, image analysis and machine learning (experience with in the deep learning field is a plus)
  • good skills in software development (C/C++, Python)
  • development know-how in the embedded (vision) field (Linux) is a plus
  • ambitious in research and problem solving
  • good knowledge of English
  • good communication skills, and you are motivated to work in a team

You like to work within a familiar team atmosphere and you are able to bring in your expertise and skills in engineering, economy as well as scientific contexts. Your personal skills include the ability to work independently as well within a team, and the ability to co-operate with industrial partners.

Salary The minimum gross salary is 2,384 (Bachelor) / 3,137 (Master), 14 times a year for full-time employment. The actual salary depends on the qualification of the applicant.
