On a Fast Implementation of a 2D Variant of Weyl’s Discrepancy Measure
The paper is a result of a collaboration between Dr. Bernhard Moser (mathematician and scientific head of the KVS group) and Christian Motz ( graduate of FH Hagenberg/Embedded Computing ) . The paper is about a robust similarity measure for images. Dr. Bernhard Moser has developed the mathematical foundations based on concepts of Hermann Weyl from the year 1916.
The aim of the publication was, to optimize the efficiency of the calculation of this measure for current processor-platforms . "The results from the study may help to find patterns in images more robust and faster, or to improve the image quality of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)", says Dr. Moser.
