As one of the largest independent research centers in Austria in the field of software, Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH) plays a harbinger role for software-related technological research and development trends.

Software Competence Center Hagenberg was founded by five departments of Johannes Kepler University Linz (Prof. Buchberger (RISC), Prof. Pomberger (Institute for Business Informatics), Prof. Klement (Institute for Knowledge-Based Mathematical Systems; Fuzzy Logic Laboratory Linz-Hagenberg), Prof. Wagner (FAW Institute for Application-Oriented Knowledge Processing) and Prof. Engl (Institute for Industrial Mathematics)) in July 1999 in the realm of the K plus competence program

The Software Competence Center Hagenberg was represented at the Hannover Fair for Industry (HMI) at the joint stand of Upper Austrian Research (UAR). A broad spectrum of Upper Austrian research competence was shown. SCCH showed the contribution of software to industry 4.0.

At ICST 2017 (International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation), which took place for its 10th anniversary this year in Tokyo, the new topic of the SCCH "Visual Testing" met with great approval. Among other contributions to this topic, the poster received the Best Poster Award.

Research Visit AIST Kansai

In Osaka

Group of AIST Kansai in Osaka, Japan, and presented SCCH’s latest research results on automated test case generation and localization testing.

Software Quality Days

At this year's Software Quality Days, Rudolf Ramler presented the research on "tool support for selective regression testing" in the scientific part of the conference. The selected publication was awarded by the jury with the “Industrial Experience Best Paper Award”.

Ontology available

BPMN is a widespread standard for business process modeling. At the SCCH an ontology was developed that formalizes the BPMN specification. The ontology can also be used to check a concrete model. The SCCH provides the ontology free of charge for download.

On 7th November 2016, the Software Competence Center Hagenberg invited customers to the Anton Bruckner Private University to the annual autumn event. The approximately 100 guests took part in the architectural tour and were then able to enjoy a wonderful musical midst.
