Abstract

We describe a system for monitoring and analyzing the health of large amounts of technical systems. The focus in this multisystem setting is on systems with a lack of sensors. That is, we only have limited information of the systems. The basic idea of our application is the concept of an alarm list. Based on algorithms for fault detection and the classification of detected faults, alarms are generated and prioritized. Our work is tailored towards the use case of monitoring photovoltaic systems. The described monitoring system which provides ubiquitous information on the health of large amounts of photovoltaic systems offers (economic) advantages to private customers but also in the field of maintenance with regard to fleet management.
