Artificial Intelligence and Digitization
ALOHA project launched
Current neural network architectures for artificial intelligence are very powerful, but also very complex and computationally intensive. However, numerous applications in industry, medical technology and security are based on so-called embedded systems with limited possibilities for the implementation of algorithms. The ALOHA team researches technologies where these hardware limitations can be taken into account during the design phase. This team includes internationally renowned research institutions such as the University of Cagliari, ETH Zürich, the University of Amsterdam and well known industrial partners such as IBM Israel and CA Technologies.
ALOHA also has a strong Austrian share through the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH, www.scch.at) with its expertise in algorithmic aspects and the company PKE (www.pke.at) with an application in the area of safety monitoring.
