SCCH celebrates at the Tabakfabrik Linz
The tobacco factory - colloquially referred to by the locals as the "Tschick Bude" - is an important figurehead for the international positioning of the city. Little by little, a creative centre and a cultural area are being created. The ideal location to celebrate the SCCH autumn event. (You can find more impressions in the video of the SCCH Herbstevent)
Looking back on the past financial year, the focus was on the successful COMET interim evaluation. "The successful evaluation guarantees that the Software Competence Center Hagenberg will continue to offer top research for the domestic economy over the next four years," says Dr. Klaus Pirklbauer. COMET stands for "Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies".
This funding programme of the FFG (Austrian Research Promotion Agency) is intended to strengthen long-term research cooperation between science and companies. "For the second funding period we were able to gain 20.4 million euros for the next four years - an increase of almost 11 percent," adds Prof. Dr. A Min Tjoa. The Software Competence Center Hagenberg is to be a "lighthouse" for Data and Software Science. Data Science at SCCH comprises data-driven modelling for data-intensive applications such as fault diagnosis, quality control, predictive maintenance and process optimization. Software Science at SCCH covers software design, software engineering and software analytics for software maintenance and development. A new focus at SCCH is Secure Software Analytics (SSA).
Close cooperation with its scientific partners at SCCH ensures the highest level of research quality. "We maintain numerous contacts with our scientific partners at home and abroad. We are also very interested in achieving closer networking with other research institutions," says Prof. Dr. A Min Tjoa.
