Abstract

Software product management is expected to link and integrate business and product related goals with core software engineering activities. Nevertheless, various frameworks available for software product management have distinct and diverse foci, while traditional software process improvement approaches lack the provision of explicit product management practices. In this paper we summarize research results on deriving key activities for software product management from selected frameworks and distilling them into a proposal for a process reference model.
