Abstract | Today's economic realities often prevent companies and projects from making the necessary investments for assuring software quality. Testing resources and time are usually limited, especially by schedules for market-driven products and in iterative and evolutionary software development. Hence, one of the foremost concerns in test management is to guide testing with the objective of maximizing effectiveness and efficiency. In this paper the author presents his PhD proposal about a framework to support rapid and informed decision-making for test management in the context of iterative and evolutionary development. The objective is to continually focus the testing effort on an optimal set of tests and, thus, enable effective and efficient testing even under uncertainty and without clear and stable requirements. |
