As a COMET competence center, SCCH conducts cutting-edge research on an international level. Together with our scientific partners, especially Johannes Kepler University Linz, SCCH strives toward leadership in the future-oriented fields of digitalization and artificial intelligence.

 

New project: RePhrase

Refactoring Parallel Heterogeneous Applications

The RePhrase project aims to produce new software engineering tools, techniques and methodologies for developing data-intensive applications in C++, targeting heterogeneous multicore/manycore systems that combine CPUs and GPUs into a coherent parallel platform.

Project ParaPhrase

A world-leading team of academic researchers and industrial experts from across Europe are celebrating the conclusion of a four year research collaboration tackling the challenges posed by the fastest and most powerful computing systems on the planet.The € 4.2M ParaPhrase project brought together academic and industrial experts from across Europe to improve the programmability and performance of modern parallel computing technologies.

Project INDYCO

Successfully completed

On March 31, 2015 the research project INDYCO (Integrated Dynamic Decision Support System Component for Disaster Management Systems) was successfully completed after two and a half years of project duration. INDYCO was funded by Austria (FFG) and Germany (AiF) in the transnational EraSME funding programme with a budget of about 1.5 million €.

Wins eAward

On 28. January 2015 the winners of the business award eAward were crowned. A large awards ceremony in the T-Center in Vienna honored especially economical, customer-friendly and innovative IT projects from Austria.

Digital Networked Data

The turn of the year brought changes to the Digital Networked Data Management Board. Dr. Bernhard Freudenthaler has been a new member of the DnD Board since January 2015.

Wide-Ranging applications for Motion Analysis

Extracting information from motion patterns

Automated motion analysis is an innovative technology that extracts information from motion patterns in objects or persons and processes such information using special mathematical methods. New developments in sensor technology and greater availability of computing power enables the analysis and optimization of ever more complex motion problems in industry, sports and medicine, e.g., motion analysis of stomach cancer cells for the purpose of precise diagnosis and therapy.

Our contribution "Improving Manual Change Impact Analysis with Tool Support: A Study in an Industrial Project" was awarded in the category Best Paper for Industrial Experience.

Minimize risk & improve quality

A research project delivers valuable knowledge especially for small and medium-sized IT companies.

An innovative research project is currently being conducted across province boundaries. The Institute for Computer Science of the University of Innsbruck, Software Competence Center Hagenberg GmbH (OÖ) and five companies are exploring smart testing. The goal is to improve quality in software development by targeted localization of faults and side effects.

15th anniversary

The Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH) invited for its birthday party in Hagenberg. Günther Gessert and his Theremin delighted the guests with a futuristic performance that emphasized the power of innovation and future orientation of the research center.

Officially opened

At the 13th of October

The K-Project "Impacts " was opened in the conference rooms of the Johannes Kepler University Linz . Nearly 80 guests - including many representatives  of partners and funding bodies as well as representatives from politics and business - took part in the inaugural event.Also SCCH is a partner in the newly launched K-Project

Insight research

For pupils during the holidays

Students at the HTL (technical college) for Information Technology in Ybbs/Donau completed their internships at SCCH under the program “Talents: Internships for Students 2014”, which was funded by the Austrian Association for the Promotion of Research (FFG) and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transportation, Industry and Technology BMVIT.

At SCCH an enthusiastic running team has come together. All runners mastered well the Linz marathon and had a lot of fun - regarding our slogan "enjoy-IT".
